More opportunities for young people to engage with contemporary music: We invite music teachers and their high school classes to attend our dress rehearsals at the Wiener Konzerthaus for the 2026/27 season. In an interactive and engaging way, music educators, together with musicians from the ensemble, prepare the students for the rehearsal visit and come directly to the school for a double period. The dress rehearsals offer an accessible, informal introduction to the concerts and provide special behind-the-scenes insights as the Ensemble works Ensemble the conductors—and often with the composers of the performed works themselves—to put the finishing touches on the performance.

An Overview of Concert Dates for the 2026/27 Winter Semester

On the concert day, the dress rehearsals can be attended between 10.00 am - 1.00 pm at Wiener Konzerthaus. (The complete concert programmes can also be found on our website).
Possible periods and dates for preparation and rehearsal visits usually fall in the week before the concert date and will be arranged by mutual agreement. (Details of the date options can be found below and in the info PDF).

Concert Series 26/27 – VOCE
THE PROGRAM FOR THE TWO SELECTED CONCERTS IN THE 2026/27 WINTER SEMESTER:
Thu, Dec. 10, 2026, Kurtág 100 (Rehearsal dates: Nov. 26–Dec. 9, 2026)
This concert, featuring works by György Ligeti, Mark Andre (Austrian composer), and György Kurtág, honors the latter with an intense and atmospheric live experience, spanning an impressive arc from the electronic music of the 1950s to the very essence of instrumental music.
Tue, Jan. 12, 2027, Voices (Rehearsal dates: Jan. 7–11, 2027)
Hans Werner Henze’s *Voices* is the centerpiece of this concert. Through his works, the composer creates true “treasure chests” that address sociopolitical themes and give voice to a wide variety of perspectives. With 15 musicians playing around 80 instruments—and also singing in some of the songs—this evening promises not only acoustic but also visual highlights.
