Gestures of liberation, extreme silence, utmost fragility. These works map a highly condensed terrain compounded of relationships and references. Ligeti orchestrates an electronic sound-accelerator, Kurtág explores the chasms arising in a self-respect which is gradually extinguished, Andre creates acoustic spaces which are no longer reliant on sound. All three composers were and still are connected by high mutual esteem.
