An inspiring opportunity for young people to get in touch with new music: We invite music teachers and their school classes to visit our dress rehearsals at the Wiener Konzerthaus in the 2024/25 season. During a double-lesson, music educators and musicians of the ensemble will prepare pupils for the rehearsals in an interactive and creative way directly at the school. The dress rehearsals offer low-threshold, informal access to the concerts and allow special insights behind the scenes, witnessing the ensemble fine-tuning together with the conductors - and often also with the composers of the performed works themselves.

Concert cycle 24/25 - EXPLOSION
THE PROGRAM OF THE 3 SELECTED CONCERTS IN THE SUMMER SEMESTER 2025:
Fri. 28.02.2025 Crash: (Date options preparation: 17. -21.02.2025)
As a multi-stylist and improvising jazz trombonist, Alex Paxton, winner of the Ernst von Siemens Composer Prize, knows no contradiction between entertainment, highly complex work structure and breathtaking virtuosity. He combines set pieces from video game music, classical chamber music and free jazz to create an energetic musical language. Together with the Neue Vocalsolisten, Klangforum Wien will be giving the Austrian premiere of his composition "How to Eat your Sexuality".
Thu. 10.04.2025 Explosion: (Date options preparation: 28.03.-03.04.2025)
On the 100th birthday of Pierre Boulez, Klangforum Wien pays tribute to the great French music innovator: Boulez's own homage to Stravinsky, Philippe Manoury with his own to Boulez and Liza Lim with an exploration of time in the spirit of the Persian Sufi poet Rumi stand for a questioning of what musical language is capable of.
Sun. 11.05.2025 Amopera - a meta-opera: (Date options preparation: 28.04.-06.05.2025)
Reinvention of music theater. The first meta-opera at Klangforum Wien was enthusiastically welcomed as a semi-staged ride through the opera literature of the last 100 years. From Zemlinsky to Sciarrino and Saunders to Xenakis , there is a wide range of works dedicated to nothing less than love in all its possibilities and impossibilities. Together with the Needcompany, the musicians present themselves as an unleashed collective of performers, unreserved and powerful.
