In seven concerts in the Mozart-Saal of the Wiener Konzerthaus, covering a period of 110 years, the programmes will range from the glittering miniatures by Anton Webern to Pierluigi Billone’s slow-motion homage to Richard Long, from the rediscovery of the Polish-American composer Lucia Diugoszewski to her Guyanese-British colleague Hannah Kendall. Special attention will be given to composer-conductor Emilio Pomàrico and to conductor-composer Beat Furrer. Both have played a significant role for the ensemble, whilst the latter, as the founder of Klangforum Wien, exerted a most decisive influence on the ensemble’s origins.
