Sternschluchten: Olivier Messiaen

Olivier Messiaen's impressive composition "Des Canyons aux étoiles" takes listeners on a journey from the rocky landscapes of Utah across the shimmering sky all the way up to paradise. On January 16, 2026, Klangforum Wien, in its expanded formation KLANGFORUM WIEN ORCHESTRA – featuring current and former students of PPCM – brought this brilliant work to the stage of the Great Hall of Wiener Konzerthaus. Conducted by Ingo Metzmacher, the performance featured a variety of solos.
