MaerzMusik 2026 opens with Georg Friedrich Haas’s 11.000 Saiten (11,000 Strings), a microtonal composition with impressive performativity. In the impressive architecture of MaHalla, 50 pianists are placed around the audience and, together with the musicians of Klangforum Wien, create an immersive sonic experience. The dynamic range extends from powerful masses to delicate islands of sounds.
