How would you describe your role as conductor in three words?

Vision, connection, energy

What excites you about contemporary musical life today?

That more than any other musical genre, it is a place where we cannot know what to expect.

Into which new territories would you like to venture with Klangforum Wien?

To bring to life new works and also delve into the ensemble’s rich archives; to be involved in interdisciplinary projects and to deepen my connection with the ensemble’s wonderful musicians.

Where do you find inspiration beyond music?

Walking in the mountains, in particular in Engadine where I have family roots, in art galleries during my travels and also playing with my daughter.

Where will be your favorite spot for coffee in Vienna?

I’m in love with the historic Viennese coffee houses and their unique atmosphere!

Where do you find inspiration beyond music?

I find my deepest inspiration from people. I learn so much from people; those in my daily life who teach me much about myself, and those new to me who teach me much about the world outside of myself.
