The focus of this teaching project is the alternative economic model "Economy for the Common Good". The European Economic and Social Committee has accepted the draft of the Austrian author Christian Felber with a majority of 86% not only as "a sustainable economic model for social cohesion", but also explicitly recommended the maxims of this alternative model for integration both in the European and the national legal frameworks of the member states of the EU. – Also for this reason the model is a good onramp for engaging education projects on the current state of the debate on economics, ecology and climate protection.
Klangforum Wien commissioned ten international filmmakers and composers to create ten animated films inspired by the principles of the "Economy for the Common Good". The films offer a playful introduction to the teaching topics in the subject areas addressed through different approaches.
The teaching project is divided into three modules, which can be used individually or in any order for the respective subject at hand. It spans lessons from the natural sciences to economics and the arts, as well as languages. The modules can be held individually or combined into a project day. On request, members of the ensemble and representatives of the Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie Österreich can support participating schools with their personal presence during the modules.
