Prague (Off)Spring 2023

In 2023, „Prague Offspring“ took place for the second time in the context of the Prague Spring Festival – a new format dedicated to contemporary music with concerts and masterclasses. Klangforum Wien is the ensemble-in-residence 2022-2024.

Under the baton of conductor Peter Rundel, six new pieces by Czech composers, commissioned by the festival, were premiered. Performances also included key works by Georg Friedrich Haas, composer-in-residence at Prague Offspring, select pieces by György Ligeti – celebrating his 100th birthday – as well as the world premiere of the monumental composition Lunapark by Czech composer Jana Vöröšová.
