IRCAM enables composers to push the boundaries of compositional imagination to entirely new horizons. Isabel Mundry will use it to set the world in the mind and the world as a resonance chamber as coordinates for a comprehensive sound experience; Márton Illés, on the other hand, sharpens the power and energy of individual sounds to maximum intensity. In addition to the two world premieres, the program includes Seltene Erde: alchimia communicationis by Chaya Czernowin. With its constantly and rapidly changing form, grounded by a double bass solo, the piece explores the many (tragic) dimensions of the exploitation of rare earths, the soil minerals used in today's communication technologies.
