The creation of light as a ceremony, clothed in a musical metaphor: the ensemble performs as a musical light engine and guides the listeners to the light-flooded destination of a spiraling journey of discovery. In a circularly unfolding composition, we are immersed in the dance between light and darkness, which leads us beyond rational comprehension into the realm of fantasy and deception.
With THE FABRICATION OF LIGHT by Chaya Czernowin, the Klangforum Wien together with conductor Johannes Kalitzke presents the centerpiece from the debut concert at Harvard University in Cambridge, USA (February 7, 2023).

Between the Concerts - FERMATE
In the series of talks, FERMATE, at 19:30h between the concerts, Chaya Czernowin meets the artist Victoria Coeln, whose work investigates the phenomena of light, as for example in the permanent light installation "Chromotopia Konzerthaus", which has illuminated the façade of the Wiener Konzerthaus since 2007.
