"A party that sounds like late Beethoven on speed", wrote the "Stuttgarter Zeitung" after the world premiere of Alex Paxton's How to Eat Your Sexuality. The three-part work by the successful British composer, whose music the New York Times described as the most joyous sound in ages, is never overly conceptual, but rather immediate, wild and colourful, is never cerebral, but very direct, wild and colorful.
The composition was created for the New Music Festival Eclat Stuttgart, where Klangforum Wien and the Neue Vocalsolisten thrilled audiences with the world premiere in February 2025. Just a few weeks later, the musicians performed the pieces under the direction of Vimbayi Kaziboni at the Wiener Konzerthaus, and now it is coming to Hamburg.
