In the course of seven concerts at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Klangforum Wien stakes out a musical territory which is composed of coalescing forces, dissolving boundaries, brightly blazing stars, infinitesimal tectonic shifts and iridescent light. Human beings find themselves in this terrain – in all their vulnerability, exposed to the glowing embers and the shimmering stars of “the new”. What has never been heard before, the unprecedented, issuing forth from the vast depths of the universe as well as from the innermost depths of Planet Earth, manifests itself in sounds which convey something entirely pristine and fresh.
With CANYON, Klangforum Wien presents an advanced polyphony of positions, guided by an aesthetic openness, capturing both interest and enthusiasm alike.
The conductorship for the 25/26 season lies in the masterful hands of the two conductors in residence Elena Schwarz and Vimbayi Kaziboni, as well as Ingo Metzmacher and Enno Poppe.
